Paolo Fundarò

Paolo is Managing Partner of XGen Venture, a Life Science venture capital firm he co-founded in 2021. He was formerly the CEO of Genextra, a Life Science investment company, from 2019 to 2022, and previously its CFO from its inception. Paolo has served as a member of the board of directors of various Genextra’s portfolio companies. In particular, he is currently Chairman of Intercept Pharmaceutical, member of the board of directors of InnovHeart and TargImmune Therapeutics. In addition, Paolo is also a founder and a Board Member of the Italian Angels for Biotech. Before joining Genextra, Paolo was in charge of finance and strategic planning for FastWeb from 2000 to 2004. Previously, he worked in London for investment banks, including Salomon Smith Barney (now Citigroup) and Donaldson Lufkin & Jenrette (now Credit Suisse). Paolo has a degree cum laude in Business Management from Bocconi University in Milan, Italy.
